Por Larrañaga Prometidos is a 2021 regional release from Habernas de Cuba for the French market, in the “Duke” size (140mm long, 54 ring gauge), Robusto Extra. The wrapper is a selection of Vuelta Abajo tobaccos and is medium-bodied, with cedar and almond notes up front, earthy and roasted nut flavors in the mid-palate, and a balanced, woody, slightly sweet finish.
Packaged in 10 individually numbered wooden boxes, the cigar is limited to 20,000 boxes worldwide. The cigar officially launches in 2023, and due to production delays is one of the last products to hit the shelves in the 2021 Regional Edition program. As the second regional release of the Bordeaux Rañaga brand in France (the first being the 2015 Opera), it has an elegant flavor profile and aging potential that is worth waiting for.
